She is relaxed and thinks logically under pressure, and is a calming presence on an event day. She gets to the point. She is industrious and thinks of ways to fix problems before they arise. She remembers things before she is reminded and reminds others of things before they have a chance to remind themselves – need I say more?
The best people an event planner can have on their team are ones who have all the qualities listed above. We interviewed TONS of people and continue to do so when time allows. It seems that everyone wants to be an event planner these days! Personality and my gut instinct always take the lead - I think I pick good apples.
Sara resides in Greenwich, CT with her son Lucas and her hubby James. She is getting *married* on September 7, 2013! She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut.
Having been a Girl Scout during grade school, community service has always been something close to her heart. Today, she does a lot of volunteering by participating in marathons and events to raise money for various research and organizations such as Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, CancerCare, Stamford Hospital and the American Red Cross.
For almost over a decade, she has worked at an upscale pastry shop helping customers design and perfect the finishing touchs of their event’s sweets! From simply decorated cookies to multi-tier birthday and wedding cakes. She has also taken many courses at Culinary Institute of America (CIA) to further broaden her skills.
Sara writes, “Growing up, I was always a very organized person and enjoyed being a part of a planning process. Whether it was a simple family get-together or larger-scale school event, coordinating was my passion.”
And we are happy to have her on our team. :)
